Our vision is that Two Rivers should be more than just luxurious accommodation. In Māori, Ohakune means "an opening to a new world". As you come and stay, our hope is that you will find an opening to a new place, whether that be a place of adventure or a place of relaxation. For many guests, the beauty of the Tongariro National Park is a whole new world for them. Two Rivers Ohakune is here to help you find and enjoy it.

After parking your car in a free and reserved spot, you will hear the calming sounds of the two rivers. We will greet you and guide you to your suite. All suites are away from the residence and have private entrances, giving you autonomy and independence.

As we arrive at your suite, we will introduce you to the rivers, and the geography of our area. We have multiple books available that you are welcome to read and learn more about our backyard.

Taking you into the suite, we'll explain the breakfast hamper and the facilities available. We have barbeques and outdoor games available upon request. We will ask about your plans for an evening meal and make suitable recommendations. If you haven't made plans for your stay or need to change them, then we'll help you find the right activity.

The suites at Two Rivers were designed and built for people enjoying short stays. The size adds to their charm and environmental sustainability. We have been creative with storage, and the bed frames will accommodate four extra-large suitcases underneath. Additional storage is available upon request.

We use high-quality bedding and towels and they are all laundered on-site and after every stay. Cleanliness is paramount in our delivery of luxury.

Luxurious accommodation is at the heart of what we offer. The suites contain everything that most guests require, but inevitably some guests may have special requests. In these circumstances we ask that you contact us. We are here to support your visit in any way we can and make your stay as comfortable as possible.

We are truly boutique. Three suites are available for those seeking privacy, calming river sounds, mountain views and accommodation that is a little bit special.

Each suite is configured to allow you to enjoy the expansive views across the rivers to Mt Ruapehu.

Our Premier Queen Suite

Rua Awa Suite

Rua Awa is a standalone cabin, with private parking, a covered deck and secluded spa.

During 2025 there have been many enhancements, with all new furniture and soft furnishings. The suite offers a kitchenette with microwave. A continental breakfast hamper will be provided for you to prepare and eat in your time.

The ensuite has endless hot-water, and a shower that you won't want to leave.

Returning guests often favour the separation , space and privacy that Rua Awa offers.

Superior Queen Suite with private spa

Mangawhero Suite

Mangawhero is our second suite with a private spa. The spacious spa is ideal for couples, but is a great way to relax and socialise if you're travelling as a small group.

Completely refurbished in 2025, this suite is a special place to say. It has a large modern ensuite, with a rain shower and lots of hot water. A kitchenette is provided with breakfast supplies so that you can eat early for an adventure or just relax.

It is is situated next to the Mangateitei suite, making it ideal for small groups, but the insulation levels enhance the sense of calm and quiet.

Mangateitei offers all the benefits of the other suites, but recognises that not everyone wants a spa pool. In every way, it has the style and luxury of the others. It is also the only one that is available for 1 night stays.

Like the Mangawhero suite, it has been completely refurbished in 2025. It has a large modern ensuite, with a rain shower and lots of hot water. A kitchenette is provided with breakfast supplies so that you can eat early for an adventure or just relax.

It is is situated next to the Mangawhero suite, making it ideal for small groups. In those circumstances the pool will accommodate guests from both suites.
