This is your snow alert, and it's time to start booking accommodation for your stays in and around Mt Ruapehu. It's time to get some Ruapehu Snow Sports action.

Update: 22/07/2025 - News just in - the High Noon is being prepared:

Pure Turoa have announced that Turoa will be open for skiing and boarding tomorrow from the top of the Giant down. Three lifts (plus Alpine Meadow) offering fun and laughter. The mountain looks glorious in its winter coat. More snow and snow making in the forecast as well. Get your up-to-date information and ski passes here: https://www.pureturoa.nz/ The HQ is open late at weekends and they've got some great merch. Support our local ski field! The team are working miracles...

Looking up from the Giant on 18/7/2025, needs a little more snow above this elevation for the High Noon to open, but beneath this point is on!

Tukino are targetting an early August opening, but they're staying 1 Metre of snow at 2300M and 50cm's at 1800M. They're clearing the road and heading up to assess. Keep an out out on their socials and website: https://www.tukino.org/

And our friends at Whakapapa have a lot of work to do to get the upper mountain ready, but they're opening the Double Happy chair tomorrow to add more capacity, and they're hopeful that the Rangatira chair will be open in the next day or two. It's close. They've been making and storing snow for weeks, and it just needs the cats to push it out and give us the Valley T and Delta. They're working really hard to deliver. Read more here: https://www.whakapapa.com/report and get hooked into their socials.

Plenty of natural snow at Whakapapa, but lots of made snow to bulk it up. The team are working miracles.
The bottom of the Delta Quad 18/7/2025. I don't think I've ever seen this so loaded so early in the season....

Basically, all three sides of the mountain are pushing hard to deliver what has now got to be an amazing season. At Two Rivers, we've worked hard on our rooms over the last year to deliver an improved offering. We've set our pricing as lean as we can, we've decorated two of three rooms, and partly decorated the third. We've got all new beds, and platinum level mattresses. New chairs and we've also introduced storage lockers for snow sport equipment. We're just introducing heating and dehumidifiers to them now.

Nothing excited or pleases us more than seeing our guests get some adventure in and around the Ruapehu region, we're working hard to give the best experiences ever and the only bit we're missing is you....

Get in touch - we're open to telling you more about us and the area before you book....
