Even more luxury accommodation at Two Rivers

Two Rivers is committed to offering luxury, privacy and serenity.

It's fair to say that any accommodation will take its fair shown of knocks and bruises in the rooms. Guests have never complained about the presentation of any of our three rooms, but when you've lived with it for a while and you want the best for your guests, you start to see what can be improved. We are perfectionists we want to offer and sustain the highest levels of comfort and satisfaction.

Back in Feb 2025 we shared a blog post about the repaint of the Mangawhero Suite and some of the changes that were coming. We've made a lot of changes and there are more coming.

Mangateitei Suite improvements

The Mangateitei Suite was repainted in the quiet months of May and June. The style mirrors that of the Mangawhero suite, with two blues in the bathroom to play with the theme of the two rivers just outside the door. The warm merino colour of the bedroom is clean, crisp and calming. We have also introduced new curtain rails and curtains. Nets have also been introduced, in response to guests that have asked for the option of a little more privacy. The deck outside this room is also used for access by guests in the Mangawhero room, and so this has been a top request. We've listened and implemented.

The Ensuite in the Mangateitei suites, refreshed paintwork along with all new towels offers heightened luxury and a fresh new look.

During early 2025, Two Rivers had already installed all new beds, mattresses, occasional chairs and side tables. All new towels, luxury bedding, plush pillows and cosy duvets have all come together to make a truly exceptional room. We feel that all of this brings even more luxury accommodation at Two Rivers Ohakune.

Rua Awa Suite improvements

While we were having the Mangateitei Suite repainted, we also asked The Painters Touch to help us with Rua Awa. They did a fantastic job in repainting the bathroom:

We also asked them to paint the ceiling in the Rua Awa bedroom. We want to change the layout in this room:

One of our summer guests in this room was an architect. As much as they liked it, they said we needed to turn the bed 90° (which we've done). They also suggested that the occasional chairs will be better in the location of the current kitchenette. This will allow guests to sit in comfort and enjoy the nature outside the window - rather than looking into the room. This has been one of the most valuable pieces of information that we've been given.

Over the coming weeks and months, it's our intention to move the kitchen to the other side of the room. This will require the room to be repainted wall-by-wall and repairs to be made to the walls as we go along. Having the ceiling painted was the first part of the jigsaw and will ensure the room stays as available as possible.

Constantly improving the luxury accommodation at Two Rivers

Two Rivers Ohakune is dynamic. We want our guests to have the best that we can provide and these enhancements are positioning us for what is shaping up to be a strong season ahead. July marked our first anniversary of taking over Two Rivers Ohakune. We are starting our second year of operation and we're already seeing increased demand, particularly in the summer. We want to give a great experience, and making these changes now is part of a sequence of improvements that will continually drive Two Rivers Ohakune forward.
